Haiti, a month later

A 7.0 Earthquake on Jan 12 2010, with more than 50 aftershocks and nearly 250,000 deaths, I wanted to do something. In the last month I helped the charities listed below. If you want to help too, you can give your time and/or money to one the deserving charities and find out more information at the MSN article linked at the end.

Facebook Login confusion

The buzz around Facebook today is that tons of people are confusing a news article written about Facebook with the real Facebook site. I've linked to the real Facebook site if you're confused, or you can type www.facebook.com in your address bar. If your interested you can read the article written by Mike Melanson and comments at the link below, just remember that it is not the real Facebook site. Some of my friends have relatives using the Spanish version of Facebook so maybe there is some confusion with language as well.

Better Browsers for Better Games

Spread Firefox Affiliate Button
I've been asked a lot lately which browser is the best for your social gaming experience. My choice is Firefox. It works great on Windows and Macs. I like it so much because it is so stable compared to Internet Explorer, it is very responsive and fast even if I have a lot of stuff going on, and it is the most powerful browser I've ever used. You can add and customize so many features and make it look the way you like, the best part is that you choose what you want to add so it's exactly what you want. I've added the weather, instant language translaton, a timer, dictionary, converter, price checker, and basketball updates.

Apple (the same company that makes Macs and iPhones) has a good browser called Safari for Windows and Macs. It is stable, responsive, and works very well though there are less features for the advanced user compared to Firefox. The problem is that it looks very ugly if you are using Windows. You'd think a company that makes so many good looking products could make this look good in Windows too.

Chrome is a browser to be feared, but not yet. So far all the social games that I play are working well but many people have told me they had problems. This is the newest browser and will be great in six months to a year but it is no there yet. The Windows version as of today is decent, I've been told the Mac version is much buggier and further behind. The team behind this have a lot of great ideas that this time next year I might switch to Chrome because of the features.

The most popular social games run in Flash so here is a link to make sure you have the newest version. Newer versions fix problems and make your computer more secure, they also occasionally add features.
